Brittany I am so sorry!!! That is trauma that no matter how much therapy we get it NEVER goes away!! When I was 10 yrs old I went thru something similar! I witnessed my Dad get in a gun fight with 2 men! After they almost killed my dad a different man came to finish him off with a machete, my older brother who was 12 at the time picked up my dad gun and pointed it to the man’s head and told him if he touched our dad he would pull the trigger, as I stood behind my brother the man tried to grab me! My brother shot the gun in the air and told him the next time it was going to be him to leave me alone! The men left and me and my brother were putting pressure on my dads wounds that he had all over his body with towels until the paramedics arrived! Even at the age of 10 and 12 we were questioned for what seemed like hours! I’ll never stop replaying that event in my head! I remember it as if it was yesterday!
