They’re happier because they dont need to hustle as much, their retirement is secure, they’re not worried about crippling medical debt, they can have a child without worrying about parental leave or medical bills

America worships profit. Everything is built around profit. Many European countries value things such as quality life, work to life balance, family, etc. They also have the security nets to provide a better quality of life. America is a sad country

Spain last spring and 10pm on a Tuesday the restaurants were filled with people and kids! Parents lived THEIR life while the kids adapted. Makes so much sense. Wish the US was like that

The UK is the second-most miserable country in the world, a new report said.
Brits have been facing recessions, a cost-of-living crisis, and increasing distrust in politicians.

Europe is also very walkable, if you live in towns or cities you can get anywhere without a car and just enjoy your environment.

It’s not third spaces, it’s money and free time. European culture is made for people to have free time to enjoy more with less. Plenty of Americans could be regulars at a mom and pop if they didn’t have to work +40hrs and have almost no money left after bills are paid

I mean Europe has its problems but I think with regards to parenting we have better maternity leave, doesn’t cost us £10k to have a baby, more social, baby classes, parks etc
