because social media is so american-centric so lots of us know what americans call things and have just kinda accepted that that's what those things will mostly be called online (this isn't an attack btw, i just think this is why british people or people who don't call it cilantro are still seeing the video)

British people (and other non us people) know what Americans call things so it’s not confusing to us. Cilantro, sweater, eggplant etc etc. I know what the uk equivalents are automatically
