Gyokeres is the opposite of a safe bet. He’s 27 years old and has shown red flags suggesting he may not translate well to the PL. You can’t spend the money required to get you Gyokeres expecting to be able to resell him for that much if he doesn’t work out. At least players like Sesko and Ekitike command lower salaries and have time on their side.

They’re both great players but I think something that goes under the radar is Gyokeres’s build, he’s clunky, stocky and stiff, he’s already had knee issues and it’ll only get worse and will lose most of the positive attributes he has by the time he’s 30 so 3 years where as Sesko is young, springy and athletic and will be able to keep his attributes all being well with injuries until he’s mid 30’s at least, so a good 10 years and with both being pretty much the same price Sesko is by far the better investment

It’s not just the numbers Arteta is looking at , it’s how the goals are scored. Gykores seems to get a lot of goals where he’s got space to run into , Arsenal play mostly against low blocks so he wouldn’t get those opportunities. Sesko is obviously more suitable to how Arsenal will have to score goals.

I don’t think he’s a good fit for a club like arsenal, when you look at his goals, the move in the left channel where he comes in & bends it, is great if there’s players in the box affording him that space, which Arsenal struggle with, he has goals where he has a lot of space in & around the box which again is unusual for Arsenal & then pens which will help, but I just feel Sesko compliments them better

Arsenal weren’t given a single penalty at home this season and only 2 for the whole season. So penalties are irrelevant. Most of his goals are in the transition against league 1 quality defences. He has Bas Dost/Darwin Nunez written all over him.

Sesko by far the better option. Don’t forget, he’s only 21. When Gyokeres was 21 he played in the second Bundesliga in Germany and scored seven goals that season.

Arsenal have Gyokeres type player. Leandro Trossard. I believe arteta making good choice by choosing Sesko. Sesko will give arsenal different dimension like aerial threat and his young.

It's not the fact that it was done in the Portuguese league. It's why and how it was done in the Portuguese league. "Why" someone scores a lot of goals is just as important a point as "whether" they do.
