The idea of ditching phones for AI-only, screenless devices sounds futuristic, but it doesn’t match how people actually use tech. Phones aren’t just tools for getting information — they’re how we capture memories, play games, stay social, and communicate visually. AI will absolutely change how we interact with devices, but it’s not replacing screens anytime soon. Just look at the Humane AI Pin — great concept, but poor execution, privacy concerns, and no discreet or practical way to use it made it a flop. We’re nowhere near the end of phones.

I spend the majority of my time on my phone being entertained by people on social media or watching movies and shows. and so I guess that's why I still see myself with a phone, does that make sense I could totally be missing something! 🥰

I don’t want AI anywhere near my information gathering. It lies constantly. It lies constantly when it first came out and it lies constantly now. It’s not going to get better, AI companies are just going to try and not let you see it lie so they don’t have to acknowledge it

This would be hugely problematic. AI agents interpreting information would shape narratives for the person using them. Tech companies aren’t altruistic (from data mining to war crimes in Gaza). This would make them even more powerful than they are now. Personal privacy & liberty will be dead. What a bleak future.
