YEARS ago I watched a documentary that was made technically illegally. from my understanding, the grocery stores are fake like sets in a movie. they use them to make it seem like everything is okay in the country. but again I saw this over 10 years ago.

there was a news clip of someone who smuggled a phone from there. it took a screenshot every so many minutes and you couldn't open the files from it

Ok, I went to Cuba about 8 years ago and very similar things were happening there. Not really the food stuff, just everything was orchestrated like you are talking about. So strange.

More than likely, the items were empty fake product look-a-likes to make it seem as if they are in a movie. Who knows, maybe the movie "They Live" is the way they live daily life.
