If you haven’t left yet, check out Asian markets for even more freeze dried/dehydrated soy mock meats, similar to soy curls but the brand Verisoy makes beef style, chicken style, and “soy chops” which are all really good and taste great in curries and marinades because they soak up flavor like a soy curl does.

Malasian embassy makes their own tofu. Try to make friends with the chefs in the restaurant at the embassy. Theyll sell it to you. Also you can find beyond burgers at Fresh Food Market in point 90 mall.

You can actually get something like soy curls from some places here! They use it on burgers to thicken them up so you’ll Def find them somewhere unless you prefer those specifically

if u run out of vital wheat gluten, dont forget u can make seitan using normal flour. Its called the wash the flour method.

I used to get nutritional yeast and vital wheat gluten at Seoudi Market / Gourmet a while back, also you can find soya chunks in almost all markets in Egypt just tell them to get you soya "بروتين الصويا ".

I used to use this protein powder... one day I found a piece of metal in my smoothie. I dumbed the whole can. a few months later I tried again AND YET AGAIN there was a metal string in my smoothie... haven't touched it since. be cateful

there's also vegan nuggets, burgers and koftas you can find them in Spinneys, Carrefour and sometimes in Seoudi the brand called "Las Vegan"

Seoudi and Gourmet Egypt have several vegan options including cheese, ‘meat’, ice cream, bakery items, etc. Eat Good Co is an online food shop that delivers all over Egypt. It’s available here but not in mainstream markets and hypermarkets.

DIYing your own staples ain’t that hard. I would bring my nut milk machine with me (it speeds up the process so much). Then some Nigari (magnesium chloride) for making tofu. Some Kala Namak (Black Salt) for vegan eggs. Also if you run out of vital wheat gluten. You can use regular flour and just wash it really well until all the starch runs out. Burmese Tofu is also really easy to make and doesn’t need Nigari.

Maadi has a huge Asian population 👍👍👍👍👍 they also have a lot of new grocery stores in the new compounds - they have tons of veggies and fruits always from the farmer that actually tastes better than the USA 🇺🇸 .. safe travels ❤️if I come to masr soon let me know if you need things from Costco before I go lol I got you
