This is devastating. My brother enrolled in Job Corps after being abandoned by his bio-mom. He got certified as a welder and had built a great life because of it. Had it not been for Job Corps, he would most definitely be in prison or worse.

My Mom overdosed and passed when my brother and i were 16 and 15. My brother ended up homeless when he was like 17 and he went to job corps & graduated with his welding cert. This is devastating for these kids

In San Diego, former foster youth make up the largest percentage of homeless. More than military. If we want to reduce homelessness, we need to start by helping the kids.

my friend is now homeless, job corps stopped her from being homeless. She aged out of foster care and this is her sanctuary, her family, her life. She gets to go back to nowhere, no family, no home, nothing.

My dad was one of the first JobCorp counselors in this state. He volunteered a lot of his time simply because he cared about the kids going in. This is heartbreaking. 😞😢😢😞

This enrages me. I dropped out of high school due to undiagnosed adhd and could not thrive in that setting. I got into job corps when my guidance counselor referred me. I took business and started in medical terminology and coding. I went on to do billing and then ended up getting a bachelor's degree in nursing. I am now an ER nurse. I'm not sure what I would have done without Job Corps!

My son went to job corps after a year of really rough times at age 16. We’re talking “swat team raid” rough times. He learned respect, work ethic, and met his life partner. They now have 3 beautiful babies. Job Corps is so valuable.
