I’ve had the copper IUD since 2018 & I had to stop wearing tampons altogether. I bleed through an ULTRA in like 2 hours. I only wear extra long overnight pads now, even during the day 😭

I chose the copper IUD intentionally bc I knew I lucked out insanely with my period as it was. so getting something closer to normal I could deal with for 10-12 years of not getting pregnant

After a year I was SO thankful I pushed through and didn’t get my paraguard removed!! I’m back to normal and don’t have to think about birth control for years. That first year was torture, awful cramping and bleeding but try and stick it out there can be light on the other side!!

as someone who is also on paraguard, it will stay heavy, but it will also become a regular heavy. The cramps will be worse for the rest of the duration though.

is it the hormonal IUD or copper? copper made me bleed so heavily for weeks on end and it would hurt so bad I had to take so much time off of work🥺
