my daughter is studying in China and she has NEVER felt more safe. She can walk home after a club at 3am, no fear of robbery, SA, theft, abuse. I'm sure the cameras caught her falling off her hired bike after a few drinks and it'll be probably be on Xiouhongshu for general merriment

I never understood how this is an invasion of privacy…as if you’re not already seen by dozens of eyes when you go outside. The footage is never rewatched unless a crime occurs…so why the fear of cameras? Scared to be caught doing something?

They point out how there cameras in the middle of nowhere and calling it dystopian. 😂 Bruh, that's the place where most likely violent crimes could occur. If anything, there should be many more cameras in those empty areas instead of popular streets.

it is just symptoms of low trust to their Governments. living in democracy choosing their own leader and government and yet having low trust on that same government. it is side effect of election where Circus and slander get turbo charged at that time. add the fact that election promise are just bullshit. do it long enough time and your populace will have low trust to their government.
