Esports is just suffering in tandem with gaming in general, and on a more macro level, every entertainment industry. Since newer generations are replacing gaming with other forms of entertainment, i.e. this app and other social media. The next 10/15 years will be "interesting" to watch unfortunately.

I feel like franchising removed a lot of the reliability. I remember when Teamranked and the Challenger Series was a thing, where people could actually get into the EU and NA LCS. Now with franchising they go more for the names than actual rookies. It‘s really worrysome and takes away the incentive to get good at the game.

Wouldn't high-production value co-streamer just turn into what is now hosting? just from home or a different place.

I think it will change and the amount of people will become smaller, but there will always be a need for someone to do this job and to do it well.

I kept watching LoL eSports after I quit playing for a while but compared to traditional sports it‘s just evolving so quickly when you don’t play yourself. eSports in general will always be heavily dependant on the palyerbase of each game.

On a lighter note, you can never be replaced... get any idea of that out of your head. 🤗
Literally you're the best in your craft, and worst case... come to the UK and host TV shows. Our presenters suck and you'd be amazing at it. 💐🩵🩷🤍

Esports is not dying. It just isn't new and trwndy anymore so thats why people don't see it everywhere these days. Esports IS here to stay 👍🏻

Esports might not be dying, but they do need to change who they hire and why. 🙂
So many times I've noticed a pattern with dodgy staff (A host who has group harassment me, or a creepy top caster who slide in DMs for example) being signed for shows, when a friend is on said show. 🤔
This can't be right. Even if nothing is going on, these examples look so sketchy because a few of the organisers suck at replying and deliberately don't mention shows till late in the day (MC Championship for example which as you'll know is a @Twitch rivals event). 😬
