Here’s What You Need to Know: 🚗 Reservations Required (Feb 2025 Weekends & President’s Day Only) – If you’re visiting on a Saturday, Sunday, or President’s Day (Feb 8–9, 15–17, and 22–23, 2025), a reservation is required all day. However, if you have overnight accommodations inside the park, you do NOT need an additional reservation. 🔥 Firefall at Horsetail Fall (Mid–Late February) – This rare event happens when the setting sun perfectly illuminates Horsetail Fall, making it glow like lava. It requires: 1️⃣ Clear skies – Clouds can block the effect. 2️⃣ Enough water flow – Horsetail Fall is seasonal. 3️⃣ Precise timing – The sun aligns for only two weeks in mid-to-late February. Firefall draws huge crowds, so expect limited parking and a 1–2 mile walk. Arrive early and dress warmly! 🚙 Winter Road Conditions & Closures – Tioga Road and Glacier Point Road are closed. Yosemite Valley roads remain open, but chains may be required, even for AWD/4WD vehicles.
