@jessintokyo: 📌Did you hit the bullseye? In kyudo there is no 10 points for a bullseye system like modern competitive archery. Traditionally the yumi was used for battles and it was either hit nor no hit. This part of the tradition of kyudo has continued to today. There are kyudo competitions and it is the number of hits off a set amount of arrows to decide the winner. At high level competitions the archer's form is also graded. The hit rates for student aged kyudo practitioners are extremely high (95%+) so when everyone is hitting, then it is closest to the center that wins over all in a final shoot off. 📌You can hear a hit and a miss as the target bank is made of sand/soil and arrows don't really make a sound when they miss. #kyudo #longbow #recurve #target #targetpractice #archery #archerylife #yumi #Japan #弓道 #bullseye #cooljapan
