I was gifted an orchid and she immediately dropped all of her flowers. I stuck her in water in a plant cabinet that gets 12 hrs of light and now 2 months later I have 15 new blooms and shes THRIVING! I'm so proud haha 😅😭

my orchid only grows leafs and doesn't even have the stem for the flowers, I'm new to caring for orchids but it was given to me in this state...should I use this method to get the flowers to grow again?

So when your water culturing orchids try to stay away from submerging all of your orchids roots. Only allow the tips of the roots to reach the water in about half an inch of water at the bottom of a clear glass. Submerging them completely can lead to root rot, mold, too much bacteria growth and lack of oxygen.

But but wait a minute. Orchids they grow on old barks of tree and above ground. Doesn't soaking it in water rott the roots? 🤔

Please tip some of that water out, you only want the last ~2cm of the roots in water. The flower stem you cut off was also likely to bloom again 🥲

I saw a video a long time ago that said orchids only bloom in January so mine is basically sitting in the corner right now crying, should I take it out and give it some TLC 😭

i think the water level in that jar is too high. experts advise to keep just a bit of water in the bottom when growing them this way

Számomra ez hihetetlen! Ez a növény nem mocsári növény, hogy folyton vízben álljon! Fán található és csak annyi vizet kap amit az esőből felfog magának! Azaz: ha vízben áll, kirohad a gyökere!
