As a Turkish person living in America, I have to say that most of the food labeled as “Turkish” here is not how it’s supposed to be. Falafel isn’t even Turkish you will rarely find it in Turkey. And Beyti Kebab is traditionally served with yogurt. We don’t call it “feta rolls,” it’s sigara böreği. We don’t call it “tzatziki sauce”. Actually, we don’t even have tzatziki sauce 😭 What I’m trying to say is, this is not real Turkish food. Real Turkish food is in Turkey and it’s so much better. I’m not trying to say anything bad about the places here, but it really bothers me when traditional foods are changed, renamed, or misrepresented.

beyti looks pretty good for an american restaurant but those entrees have nothing to do with turkish food! :( they’re definitely more on the meditarrenean & middle eastern side. afiyet olsun regardless
