Our favourite bench in histology - right? 👀 Microtomy is the technique of cutting extremely thin slices of material, known as sections, using a tool called a microtome. Thin sample sections (typically 3–10 micrometers) are cut and stained to study the structure and composition of tissues under a microscope. In pathology labs, microtomy is used to prepare tissue biopsies for diagnosing diseases such as cancer. It also enables pathologists to examine cell morphology and detect abnormalities. #biomedical #biomedicalscience #laboratory #fyppp #histology
