nah. If a person is functioning alcoholic they know this. So they wont speak of anything specific they cant remember. And they dont disappear, they just dont make relationships where they could be caught.

my mum has been an alcoholic since I was 7. this is spot on. I'll also add that we didn't know she was drunk growing up, we always just said she was "tired" she was "tired" all the time

Not all alcoholics are drunk all the time. I drink most nights. Have done for years. I won’t drink in front of my kids and I’ll have my drinks between 10pm and 2am. Usually about 6 beers. 50cl beers. I’m trying to give up but it’s a struggle.
