Nothing works except Valtrex. 🤷♀️My husband and I both grew up getting cold sores several times a year. My doctor prescribed it and now I don’t even get them anymore and my husband gets maybe 1 a year. He takes a daily, I keep an emergency RX and take them if I feel the telltale signs of one starting.

They do make patches for cold sores and they work amazing and are much less noticeable than the hydrocolloid patches

Yeah, absolutely not. Pulling an adhesive patch off of an active cold sore is not only painful but is going to make it angrier and it will take longer to heal in the end. Learned that the hard way. Don’t recommend.

Red light therapy!!!!! I’ve dealt with cold sores since I was a kid and recently discovered red light therapy works so well. Start using it the second you feel one come on and it won’t fully develop and gone within a few days. Life changing!

Someone recommended tea tree oil. My cold sore was 5 days old and still sore & blistered. Tried tea tree oil and overnight it had dried out, now healing.
