My daughter was on exchange through Rotary, so she had three families lined up. Her 2nd family was not a good fit. I think the mom was never really on board to host. The father was in Rotary and maybe volunteered his family to host. She was so uncomfortable because the parents would be arguing in a language that my daughter was still learning and she would hear her name during these fights. Her advisor moved her rather quickly into her 3rd family. She had a wonderful experience with the other two families. She handled it well and communicated with her advisor right away.

This is how we got involved with being hosts parents. Our student had an issue and we ended up taking her in and then had the best time while here.

My first host dad volunteered his family for the exchange program and he was never home. I saw him max 10 times in the 2.5 months I was with them. Both sides agreed that a switch is a good idea

My host parents are both really nice but the two children are awful. The boy hits me all the time and won't stop and the girl knows no privacy (8,10 years old). I've already told the parents and they've also spoken to the 8 and 10 year olds but they're so stuck up that they won't listen to anything. Plus the house is constantly chaos, the kitchen and living room hallway are always Full of stuff and food (also Moldy ) the parents are so nice, everything else is great. i am ins. Farm and they Great the Animal not like they should be especialy the children but jedterday the father strangeld the dog because he missbehaved saying that’s how they lern (the dog is okay)I just don't know when it's too much because they hit their children, not me, they dont even scream at me , but I would feel so bad because the parents have put in so much effort but they're always angry at the children because they behave extremely inappropriately. And I want and dont want to change at the same time
