In NC you can file a Claim and Delivery with the clerk of court to ask the court to order a seizure of property that is yours. It's a simple form. You can do it without an attorney. 💙 - from a NC attorney.

I foster with them, and based on this information, that dog is legally yours. I know some other fosters have reached out to you to help escalate with the right people. I’m so sorry this happened!!

That’s wild to put the dog in another foster situation instead of a forever home regardless of if there was issues w the staycation paperwork. Also, 6-8 weeks for a refund….thats a crazy amount of time.

Register that micro chip now. Then go to courts and file a civil claim. Money passed hands. You have the paperwork to prove it and the micro chip is registered to you

Used to work in the spay and neuter clinic there. They can pull pets from staycation they just aren't doing it. You need to lawyer up. You bought her and legally she is not CMACC's anymore. They cannot make those decisions now that she is owned.
