Some folks never got the chance to be children; their joyful, exploratory behavior was either condemned (“children should be seen but not heard”), punished, or entirely unavailable as an option because their parents were ignorant (I’m being descriptive not derogatory) so the kids had to become the adults. Generational trauma is real.

I work at an elementary school as a sub lunch aid. preK and kinder are the cutest. my son will be in 2nd grade so I get to see him on the playground. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

We don’t give adults permission PLAY. We don’t allow adults to be playful, creative, joyful or happy, and that is so incredibly sad! It’s like you only have VALUE as an adult if you’re SERIOUS or STRESSED or PRODUCTIVE! Thank you for bringing more awareness to this. We ALL need healing in this space 🙏🏼

Its absolutely beautiful because your enjoying life and connecting with nature on a deeper level, but i understand how this feels 100% personally for me it stems from childhood and grumpy adults telling me to grow up and its like my childhood self is guarding herself still, tbh this helped me see that thank you 💕

🍀 This! 🍀 Recently my mom met me at a busy park. She said she couldn’t find me until she saw a ‘very large child’ on their hands and knees in the grass- she instantly knew it was me looking for four leaf clovers. I was so proud of myself for living out loud and not being scared that day.
