@ashleyzambelli: Replying to @theshortone4ft11 this is an old video of mine but with how much I post I figured I’d upload it again 😊 #mosaicdownsyndrome #downsyndrome #downsyndromeawareness #diagnosis #genetictesting #genetics #trisomy21
I love the fact that your geneticists were so interested in this genetic mystery that they just did the testing for free- I can totally picture doctors sitting around going “I HAVE to know! Let’s just cover the test ourselves!” 😂

Not the geneticist being too curious to let you not get the test so they paid 2000$

As a geneticist, that’s WILD. Really interesting. Are the planning to publish a case study? And how are you kiddos doing?

I wonder if Mosaic Down syndrome is actually more common than we realize. There are many people with Trisomy 21 - I bet it’s more common than science is currently testing.

After that first miscarriage I would have thought your OBGYN would have referred you for genetic testing.

Also as another geneticist, your story is fascinating. Glad they covered the test for you and happy your kids are doing great. Hoping for health and happiness for you and your family.

People in the comments sitting on their high horse but not realising they are also one mis-step, one car crash, one accident etc away from being disabled themselves

Woah some comments here are feral. I had a son with T18. The decision to keep a pregnancy is very personal and should only be the choice of the individual not the public. May your babies be happy and healthy ❤️

So in hospitals and doctor’s offices they say “bew-cal,” but if you go to a dentist or orthodontist you’ll hear “buckle.” I think it’s just one of those words like either or neither where we’re all right!

“Insurance companies won’t cover it unless it will be beneficial to you.” You mean beneficial to them. Genetic testing would be beneficial to everyone, but they’ll only pay if they think there’s a good chance they’ll have to pay out more on future issues. Everyone’s an expense or profit to them, not a person.

Some of these comments are horrible. I’m so sorry. Suggesting it’s not ok for someone to have a child because they may have a disability is ableist. It’s ok to be disabled people! It’s ok for disabled people to exist in the world. Be kinder.
