My matron used to inspect the nails before every shift. If caught she took you into the treatment room and passed you the bottle of acetone. The good ole days when standards were always kept high.

In South Africa its apparently only the nurses nails that need to be kept short everyone else who works on the patient do not carry “ infection “ on their acrylics .
