@torontoplasticsurgery: When Kylie Jenner recently shared that she had a “half under the muscle” breast augmentation, she was likely referring to what we call a dual-plane augmentation — a technique I use in the vast majority of my breast augmentation cases. In a dual-plane augmentation, the upper part of the implant is placed beneath the pectoralis major muscle, while the lower part sits under the breast tissue but above the muscle. This hybrid approach allows for a more natural upper breast slope with better soft tissue coverage, while still filling out the lower part of the breast for a perkier, more youthful shape. This technique is ideal for patients with mild sagging or thinner upper pole tissue — and it’s been my go-to method for nearly 15 years.
