If someone doesn’t want to try to paint the birds they could decoupage Audubon bird prints. They have hi Rez downloads on their site. Office max and staples do large color printing.

With mdf paint will peel and chip off super easily- especially with something you regularly come into contact with like a headboard. I highly recommend treating it with 1:1 shellac: ammonia spray so the paint has something to attach to easier

Hi paint architectural paint lady here! Only problem is if you used water based paints there’s a chance they could cause the MDF to swell a bit. Any oil based primer for future reference would seal the MDF and you can put anything over an oil based primer! Amazing work!!
