My mother in law did not understand this and judged me for only giving my newborn a sponge bath for the first few weeks of his life, thankfully we’re no contact now. Tried to make me feel bad about everything, super toxic.

I left the afterbirth on my kid for the first two weeks. got some judgment for that one, I also cleared his yellow skin and eyes by using sunlight, baby is like plant, needs sunlight

My 5 month old baby loves bath time. I bathe her every night for “splish splash” time. Only wash her with soap every 3rd day.

yeah we did sponge bath till cord was off then week later did her first water bath then everywhere after that has been shower with me because it's faster and easier for us and she loves it and throughout the week before her shower we clean her rolls and diaper area with wipes or a damp cloth

I waited a week to bath him at all, but he ended up getting a yeast infection 😭 there definitely a happy medium to bathing a newborn

my kids when they were less than 1 was bath once a week and baby wipes if it was hot out to wipe their neck/arm/leg rolls to keep the area free from any kind of gunk I saw. after they were walking I'd bathe them more than once a week, but not too often that they're getting ear infections constantly
