That’s only true if you’re able to latch/ seal it while in the ground. Some of them vaults have latches you have to lock. Vanguard and Wilbert vaults says that about all their high end vaults. It holds somewhat true if vaults are not damaged while digging another grave space beside it. That’s because the high end vaults have a plastic, copper, or aluminum liner inside so the water collects around the liner and directly inside the vaults. Which keeps casket dry. I’m a ex cemetery grounds man/ grave digger that’s how I know 🤷🏾‍♂️

I’ve never thought about what I want when I die. Cremation or burial. I don’t like the thought of being in an air tight box underground.

It would have to be installed perfectly level in the hole. Tilt the glass underwater and what happens?

I found the certificates for my great grandparents graves that guaranteed that water would not get into it.

It may be true, but why worry about it? I’m all for natural burial with no box, etc.

I have disinterred a Classic Metal air seal vault and with the wooden casket, you could not separate the two pieces without the casket falling apart.

Do not understand how it is so hard to manufacture any vault that is water proof.

3,500 for a vault in NY is insane I just had to pay to open a grave and buy a vault for my brother. My mind was blown

Every disinterment I have seen has had a perfectly sealed vault! Granted we are way above sea level in Idaho and Utah but they did good!
