@tilscience: This is seriously so cool. I love science. 🥲 Read more here: Measuring Pair Correlations in Bose and Fermi Gases via Atom-Resolved Microscopy Zweirein, et al. #Science #EduTok #physics #mindblown
This is how school should be taught I would actually pay attention

if only school taught science like this maybe I’d be getting good grades

It would be so cool to see how these researchers actually react when they discover their results. When they see the first readouts and know that they're onto something 😊

Don't sleep on the fact we've only now actually captured them yet for a long time have known exactly what they were and would behave like. The intelligence of some people are unmatched

I have next to no problem visualising the galaxy or universe but I genuinely struggle too much with the micro scale, I can't wrap my head around this

It appears commenters are confusing fundamental vs composite classification. It's unfortunate that boson and fermion terms are used in both classifications. It leads to confusion.

There were so many non-believers in physics when it came to quantum mechanics and quantum theory. They may need a new profession!

OK, so you're talking about scales measured in angstroms, which I accept. However your picture shows a scale legend using microns. Something appears to be incorrect & I VERY strongly suspect it's the micron legend. The legend should surely be in nanometers 😎.

Are they only acting like that because they’re being observed? Or is that something else completely different?

so coollll ( ˶°ㅁ°) !! ok but imagine photographing the atoms when under the “observer effect” like in the double slit experiment. the effect is a fundamental puzzle of quantum mechanics: the act of observation or measurement seems to influence the behavior of particles !!
