this is why they ask with or without cheese in Mexico City. Quesadilla in our native language means toasted folded tortilla. In the Spaniards native language it means light cheese tortillas.

In CDMX quesadillas don’t always have cheese, this is because over there a quesadillas is a tortilla that is folded like a quesadilla. Meaning it doesn’t have to have cheese to be considered a quesadilla. This due to the region
