the best way to loot ancient cities is to set your spawn close and run around with just a hoe and break all the shriekers. the warden will spawn but you can just run away from it and keep breaking the shriekers, once theyre all gone its completely safe to loot

Ancient cities are annoying to explore, constant crouching, needing to cover every single shrieker in a 50 mile radius and the only decent loot being some diamond pants, it’s not worth it
