The creator of safe haven boxes has said in trainings even if they seem older than 30 days you still accept with kindness and without judgement. This is better than a dumpster or anywhere else abandoned. This should not be being shamed on the news it’s discouraging safe drops

Who cares, she dropped them off somewhere safe. Age shouldn’t matter, if you can’t care for babies of don’t want to be a mom anymore. No better place to drop them off than a fire station.

OK but it's better than a dumpster or pulling a Casey Anthony. She did the absolute right thing for those kids. The obsession with only being able to safe haven fresh born babies is insane. Should be every age because the alternative in some cases is worst.

If those were the twins - they are babies. We are lucky she was a selfless woman and did this and didn’t hurt these kids. She should be praised for doing this

30 days is a ridiculously short time limit. There are plenty of mothers who want to keep their kids, only to realize later that they can't fully support them, either mentally or financially, which usually comes AFTER that one month period. If the child is still dependent on the parent for everything, then they should be eligible for safe surrender at a fire department. It's safer and kinder for everyone involved

Any age, there should be a safe haven. If a person is wanting or needing to get rid of there child, its better that we provide a place for them to go then to the parent to lose it in the child to suffer.
