📌 Feite oor die Khoisan en die “Coloured”-identiteit in Suid-Afrika: 1️⃣ Wie was die Khoisan? Die Khoi en San was die oorspronklike inheemse volke van Suid-Afrika. Die San was jagters-versamelaars. Die Khoi (Khoikhoi) was veeboere. Hulle het oor groot dele van SA beweeg voor Bantoe-stamme van die noorde af ingetrek het Hulle het ’n unieke kultuur, taal (met klikgeluide), en geloof gehad. 2️⃣ Wat het van die Khoisan geword? Grootliks uitgemoor, verslaaf, of hul land verloor aan: Bantoe-stamme wat uit Sentraal-Afrika ingetrek het. Europese koloniste ná 1652. Vandag is slegs klein Khoisan-gemeenskappe oor, soos in die Richtersveld, Namakwaland, en Kalahari. 3️⃣ Wie is die "Coloured" gemeenskap? ’n Gemengde groep ontstaan uit: Europese setlaars (voornamelik Hollands, Duits, Frans) Maleisiese slawe Afrikane (Bantoe-volke) En baie klein hoeveelhede Khoisan Meeste bruin mense het oorspronklik nie met Khoisan geïdentifiseer nie, maar as Christelik, Afrikaanssprekende mense met ’n unieke kultuur. 4️⃣ Wanneer het mense eers weer begin sê hulle is Khoisan? Eers ná 1994 toe die ANC-regering begin praat het van: “First Nation Status” Grondeise vir oorspronklikes Politieke en ekonomiese voordele vir "inheemse" mense Sommige bruin gemeenskappe het toe gesê hulle is van Khoisan-afkoms vir voordeel. 5️⃣ Waarom het dit gebeur? Politieke opportunisme: om grond, werk en status te kry. Identiteitskrisis: bruin mense was altyd tussen wit en swart geplaas. ANC-narratief: om wit grondbesit te regverdig deur te sê dit “behoort aan die Khoisan”.
