I never thought of that. I equated it to a great spinoff, like Better Call Saul where we followed Saul but didn't see Walter White much. I love how this show further developed Andor. But I also would love to see more on Jyn if they could do it well, like her time with Saw as a kid. Hell, if they could pull it off, I'd love a live action show about Saw too. And one on how Luthen grew his spy network.

Yeah she sticks out in a weird way upon the rewatch. I know it’s the fault of reshoots and rewriting but also… I just don’t think she’s a very good actress in it

I think it hits harder we get to see cas, beginning from slight hesitant rebellion to full on rebel, and now we see better why they pair up so well cause jyn is now in that position, cas 💀 at the height or his arc (maybe even slight ending), while jyn 💀 at the beginning of hers in a way

Because her character makes no real choices in the movie. She’s just sort of dragged from plot point to plot point.

Jyn Erso was kind of superfluous honestly, Rogue One while improved a lot by Andor definitely still has some problems. A lot of them being studio interference and bad development.

Rogue One was a masterpiece that was shot in the foot and told to run anyway, but I still love it for what it is. We should get a reworked cut tho

She deserves her own series about her and Saw Gerrera. It would be a great way to keep building on the success of Andor by introducing another show focused on the gritty and nuanced reality of rebellion and fascism.

Piecing together the Rogue One rewrites and reshoots, it seems like Edwards didn’t have much Jyn character development in the original cut. Went from Saw taking her as a kid, to a meeting at the conference table (the “I rebel” line from the first trailer). Gilroy added the prison cell scene and the breakout scene.

I do love jyn erso especially in battlefront. but going back does feel like there should've been some more meat on the bone. by no means does that mean the movie is bad, still one of the best sw movies.
