They’re made to just slow down the saw not prevent a Texas chainsaw massacre attempt

Middle Age Scene Kid :
Chaps are to protect against debris flying back onto the user not to stop a chain saw at fill open throttle.

Yeh but it shouldn’t go true. Normal chainsaw would stop much quicker.

can you strap it onto something so its a bit more realistic, it won't pull them off of you and we can't see the damages underneath

So it stopped? Or did you let off the trigger?

they're just meant to help stop the chain that's broke and is flying back at you. if they'll even stop that.

battery saws require a special rating of chap. I think they use something other than kevlar

why would it matter, a gas powered engine with equal power to the battery is the same right?

100% went through? It’s supposed to cut into the chaps. That’s exactly what’s supposed to happen 😂

It stops it but it rotates way more than is should. A good few more rotations after it got caught meaning it would go through a chunk of flesh

Remember she is testing on already compromised chaps. As the safety standards go, once they are compromised, they need to be replaced. if they weren't they'd most likely will stop in an instant.

Patriotic Brit :
well the main reason is eletric has more power besides the battery lasting less than a hour and no chaps can stop it petrol half a day before filling it and if you strike chaps the whole clutch gets fragged by the chaps so petrol saw safer than eletric saw

husqvarna pants would have stopped it faster

Jackmackinaw🇨🇦 :
Reason why the pants failed because the rating of it didn’t match the rpm of battery chainsaw

Suomen kansallisvihannes :
those pants were already sawn next to cut, so protection is not good as new

Are your glasses stopping the chainsaw when you have an kickback? Nope. Wear a helm with screen.

Just like everything that’s dangerous it’s up to the operators to prevent injury by wearing PPE..and understanding the risk and prevention.

Unless their stance has changed even Stihl admits (admitted?) that their battery powered chainsaws are more powerful than their gas and standard safety equipment, while still recommended, may not help as much
