Girl it’s not the vaccine lol. Your dog probably has pneumonia from inhaling cough secretions. Also side note: the vaccine does not cover all strains of kennel cough, so even vaccinated they can get it.

I don’t vaccinate my dogs anymore. It’s all a con. We’re told we have to do annual boosters but during Covid when that wasn’t possible we’re told they’re actually covered for up to 2 years!!! And now they’re changing the vaccines and dogs are dying or ending up with these kinds of side affects?! Vets are just after money

I’m a vet nurse and the reason for initial symptoms (so first few days) of kennel cough after jab is because it’s a live vaccine so your dog will get symptoms of kennel cough (this is to ppl in comments) to the owner of this dog have they had heart scans done? Hope she/he is ok poor thing

I find my dog does this when pollen is high or allergy to something in food , I was made to feel like over anxious parent when took my dog to vets 100 to see her and they wanted another 300 for xray bloods but said I would be waisting money as its just allergy irration

We won’t give kennel cough anymore. They had it once yo stay over night in kennels and a month later our youngest started having health issues 4 months after that she died! She had IMHA (PIMA)

All medicine can have side effects and vaccines are no exception. Im really sorry for your experience, I hope ur pup feels better and they find the root cause for the cough. But people in the comments need to understand that maintaining group immunity is essential to keeping really dangerous and potentially epidemic diseases at bay! Its also really scary to me that theres people here admitting they dont vaccinate their dogs and live in countries that are not rabies free. The rabies vaccine is given to dogs ultimately to protect humans!!

If you can afford it.. should get a CT scan +/- a bronchial lavage to get a sample of what’s going on in the lungs.
