After my stroke and brain haemorrhage I forget what people say to me, forget to turn the cooker on and off, taps left running. Can’t cook alone Etc. honestly the list is endless. but because I can drive for 3 minutes to the shop then that means there’s no evidence of cognitive impairment. They’ve dismissed everything and actually invented some needs.

Short term memory loss like forgetting tablets and long term memory loss is totally different! I have a few chronic illnesses, a few I was born with. Some days my mind is ok, having conversations mid sentence I forget a word or what I’m talking about, other time my short term memory is ok. I’m sitter there talking to my sister and I have no memory of what they are talking about gone completely! Then out of the blue it pops back I ring them and say oh I remember now!! What you’re talking about is not to find out about your client to help them but to trip them up and catch them out!!

God my long term memory is great short term nope. omg my dog is part of the reason I can focus as I need to keep him alive and provides me emotional support. driving a car I can do but I'm constantly anxious worrying I'm going to encounter traffic road closures leading to diversions and getting confused. I drive because I have to not because i want to. I've ended up off my meds several times because I forget to order them ontime regardless if I write it down and set phone alarms. my mum is now helping me

But me knowing my long term history of what happened in school days isn't relatable to me forgetting what I turned around in the kitchen to get, and in the space of that time not remembering. I can tell you what GCSEs I got 30 odd years ago.......but I can't tell you what I have in the fridge for tomorrow's dinner. Asking me something about 30 years ago doesn't prove or disprove my disability today.

I relate big time and even cancelled my pip evaluation as they just asked foo much and I couldn't cope?!!!!! so here's me working but body to breaking point as I can't deal with them 😭 here supporting you xx
