@foragedbyfern: This was always one of my favorite things to do with the kids in forest school! Squishy, green, foamy soap is a thing of delight! Horse chestnut leaves contain natural saponins - plant compounds that foam up like soap 🧼 when agitated in water! You have to really rub to release the saponins, so give those leaves a good smooshing! Horse chestnut is slightly antibacterial, and it does help lift dirt and oils from the skin, making it perfect for wild handwashing when you're in a pinch and outdoor play with little ones (or big ones!) #forestschool #foraging #horsechestnut
