Things like apples and pears are often coated with a thin layer of edible wax to make them look extra shiny. That's what the vinegar or cleaner is removing. Things like grapes and berries may have pesticides on them. Rinsing well under water is fine. I put them in a colander to make it easier to rinse the grapes.

I have never used baking soda, vinegar, or vegetable cleaner. Water is fine.

if you're having trouble identifying flavors like sweet vs sour with grapes you could cut them in half and have another person try the other half to help you identify the flavors!

green grapes are usually sour, but the red ones are way sweeter, but to tell when youve got good ones theyre firm if you give them a light squeeze 😊

Grapes should feel firm to the touch. Not flabby. They should be crunchy in texture and juicy. Not sour.

With grapes they should be firm and not have mold (white stuff) or be slimy. Other fruits have different standards for ripeness that you can look up, I have to do the same when I try a new fruit
