but mine does both... if I'm spraying it, it don't let water in and it just beads up. but it also lets water in and absorbs moisture quickly but it loses it quickly

Yeah but most of the time it’s not as low porosity as you think, it’s just product buildup. People underestimate how difficult things are to get off the hair.
