@kaitlin_rios: Replying to @jade_amara_ so needless to say I don’t like doing dishes and my husband actually does them most of the time so I don’t have to. #triggers #traumahealing #triggered
I just found this playlist and it makes me like you even more than I already did 💜 CORRECT- the trauma lives in your body. I am 38 years old. I went to the store the other day and a fight broke out that had NOTHING to do with me. There was so much yelling. And I instantly started crying and had to leave and go to my car. I called my husband and couldn’t figure out why I was crying- no one who was fighting was even near me. But the yelling….it triggered something in me. It’s been 36 years since I’ve experienced that trauma, but it still lives within me 😔

For the life of me I couldn’t find your page. I’m so happy you popped up for me today. Thank you for sharing. I know how difficult it can be. And something Ive noticed when we share. Trying to explain all the angles of an event that happened. But we can’t fully express it. So it sounds not as big as it actually was. Some people don’t think it’s a huge deal. Not realizing these things happen on a constant. Living and walking on glass every moment. Something as not doing something exactly how they want it done. Not picking up or answer a call/text. Can cause the dragon to come out. Even through healing. Those triggers still can surprise me out of nowhere. Even bringing things to the surface that I had completely blocked out of my memory. Just today in the soda aisle. Seeing a certain off brand sprite triggered me. Simply bc he would buy them by the load for his mixed drinks. I bought a different one on sale once. Cans were thrown at me. I cleaned soda for hours that night…

The box, the ball, and the button theory applies to trauma and grief. Sometimes it’s not as heavy. Others, it’s like a center block crushing you
