I tip servers. I'm not tipping baristas or counter service.

I get the frustration, but you don’t have to go buy the $9 matcha. It’s a luxury 🤷🏻♀️if I’m buying a coffee, I have an extra $1 to tip.

My issues is that the barista is being underpaid, and instead of addressing that with their employer they're asking the customer to foot the difference

If you can afford a $9 drink you can tip a dollar.

As a barista I get paid minimum wage- if you want to tip that’s really nice and helps me out but it’s not necessary! The issue is w/ waiters whose income is dependent on tips bc they don’t get minimum wage

if you have to stand while ordering, or you pick your food up from a counter, you don't have to tip

Yeah we don’t really tip on coffees usually unless we are feeling really nice that day. Don’t listen to people who tell you otherwise, normal middle class folk rarely tip on coffees

I never tip for coffee ever, unless I have change from paying with cash. 2$ for takeout 20% for delivery or sit down service or a bar tab

Tipping takeout got out of hand with Covid; everyone was tipping service workers bc they had to work, and then it became expensive

You aren’t expected to tip at coffee shops or on Togo orders, coming from a server (and someone who was a barista for 3 months which I hated)

It’s been hard to but I stopped tipping on most food/drink that isn’t full service. Now I tip if I have the extra cash and they look really busy or someone went out of their way for me.
