Can you still have real event OCD if what you did was really bad?

False memory is the worst. I’ve been having intrusive thoughts about a past memory and it’s the worst. The memories themselves are fuzzy but then my brain wants to insert flashes or visuals of me doing something I know that I’d never do. Mine always involves around infidelity about what if I did something and forgot 😞or blocked out the memory

I feel like I don’t deserve happiness or can be happy because of my past mistakes!! When things around me are fine, (no issues) I can’t let it be. I try to find a thought to latch onto!!

I did some not very good things when I was a minor. I regret it very much and learned a lesson from it about "what's good and what's bad." But one specific thing is bothering me. I don't think I did it, but at the same time I could or I couldn't. I don't know. And if I really did this, I won’t be able to forgive myself or live in general.

I already had this to an extent, but then a situation happened where I did something that hurt someone (not on purpose) and since then, it's been pretty debilitating. how do you get past it when you actually did something against your own values?

Hey! What about ocd false memory about fear of commenting / doing something bad on social media (that I would never want to do at all!!) that will make everyone hate for me. I ruminate and convince myself I posted a horrible thing and everyone will hate me and it ruins my day!

Can you talk about this being crossed with abuse in early life, maybe how that would manifest.

I’m having the MOST difficult time finding someone who takes my insurance, who actually specializes in OCD. It’s gotten so bad & I don’t know what to do anymore.

I'm someone who doesn't know if I should bring up OCD to my therapist, I have extreme childhood trauma, I do this. My biggest event or whatever is I'm convinced God is going to take my home away from me if I don't keep it clean, he'll think I don't appreciate it, is this like a "normal" thought or do I need to bring up OCD? I don't want to overwhelm my therapist jesus

Okay but if someone/universe tells me I did something wrong, then I have the embarrassment of others knowing that I made a mistake. and then what if it causes more work for them and I am to blame.

I m currently doing ERP for my OCD, but my therapist has helped me determine I have had some trauma as a kid that affects my OCD. What is your thoughts on doing EMDR therapy to help deal with the trauma that now affects my OCD?

So my ex threw my cat off the balcony (she’s fine now!) and so I have severe ptsd from it which has caused my ocd checking to get out of control to make sure she is safe—checking to make sure I didn’t leave pills out, toxic foods out, that she’s not in the dryer etc- so my problem is a horrible event that I worried about actually did happen so I can rationalize my compulsions and checks…idk what to do!!

what do you think about identity diffusion being a root cause of OCD? like a dissociative traumatised part resurfacing through ocd themes particularly morality real event ocd?
