Do NOT get hides with very small holes, my hamster tried to squeeze herself through one and strangled herself.

make sure you're buying safe wood, the only safe woods for hamsters are: Spruce, Aspen, Birch, Basswood, Poplar, Balsa Not safe: Pine, Kiln dried pine, MDF,LDF,Hardboard, Veneer, Plywoods, Melamine, Baltic, Cherry, Maple, Oak, Cedar, etc Birch or spruce is probably the easiest to find. Can use plywood if it is fully birch!
