There is also a parallel issue. Canada needs to withdraw from the 3rd Safe Country Agreement so that non us citizens arriving from the US or passing through US us can make refugee claims in canada as america is not a safe country.

I want to try to bring my trans wife to Canada but I'm still in the US and just opted to self deport after spending about a year in the US. I have no job or savings or work experience. I'm not sure how I'll be able to sponsor her fast to come into Canada for this year

Trans Canadian refugee here! I made it here in March and I was approved as a claimant, I’m awaiting my final hearing within the next two years. I still don’t have a lawyer, but I’m legally savvy which helped push my case through the first stages. If anyone needs help with proof or needs guidance while waiting on legal aid, I’ve been incredibly successful advocating for myself and my family. I want to pay it forward so if any trans individuals here who are starting the process or thinking of it I’m always open to chatting!

Canada changed the safe third countries act in February. changed it right back in March. It has not been safe for Trans or out queer, disabled, or even women in the states for nearly 4 years. It's beyond me why this hasn't been addressed until now.

Just this week I had a man shake in anger while serving me at the gas station. And I live in one of the safest places for trans people. I genuinely fear going out at night these days. Aggression has risen in people being openly bigoted and it's more often in running into intolerance and open hostility.

Not taking away from all of the absolute facts you are saying in this video. But I do want to point out you said across all 50 states but it's only across 49 states (as shown in the bill tracker you have in the video) Vermont has no active proposed anti-trans bills. BUT we are absolutely not safe in ANY state as long as our government continues on this path. This country has become increasingly hostile and dangerous for all minorities and as a trans/nonbinary citizen I will also be attempting to leave this country even though I live in Vermont. It is scary and I hope that everyone can stay safe 🙏 😭

Currently its very difficult and expensive. The Website is super hard to use. I personally had to hire an attourney to figure it out. its still up in the air super stressful. I hope she reaches her goal.
