there's no 3000km sfp, they max out at about 100km, anything further has regen

quick info SM can support long distances with less bandwidth MM can support higher bandwidth but with shorter distances compared to sm. that's why SM is preferable by telecommunication for FTTH and MM is used commonly in data centers,servers and links between networks which required huge data links bandwidth
