@jeeves_ny: Replying to @Sonia Rodriguez Ever smelled that musty "wet dog" funk on clothes left too long in the washer? That’s mold and bacteria growing — and they release VOCs (volatile organic compounds) that your nose picks up as that awful smell. Here are two ways to fight back: – Downy Rinse or Tide Boost: help prevent musty smells for up to 24 hours – Laundry Sanitizers: kill bacteria and viruses Detergent alone can’t do that — these go in your rinse or softener slot. Your nose (and clothes) will thank you! #mildewsmell #mustyclothes #mildewclothes #funkysmellingclothes #clothessmellbad #laundrytips #laundryhacks #laundry #laundrytok #CleanTok #cleanclothes #preventclothesfromsmelling #cleanclothes #downyrinse #tideboost #laundrysanitizer #wetdogsmell #moldyclothes
Wait- the laundry sanitizer goes in the softener dispenser??? 🤯

I use laundry sanitizer on every. Single. Load. And it keeps my washer looking and smelling brand new. I never have to do tub cleans

-100 points for giving 2 extra niche products to buy instead of mentioning vinegar

Is it true that you should leave your washer open after you’re done using it so it doesn’t grow mold?

Yeah, I wouldn’t use any of those. Just rewash with a little vinegar and you’re gonna be good. No toxins.

Unfortunately bacteria builds biofilms to protect themselves and they hang around in your clothes causing odor and other issues, even after washing. Using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in your wash will kill mold, bacteria and even the biofilms which are so hard to break down. Your clothes will be SO clean, and they wont smell even if you forget them in the washer.

Any towel or sheet in the linen closet very quickly would start smelling sort of biofilmy, and using one of the Tides you recommended has really helped. (I have an extra-sensitive nose, and I really hate that smell!)
