Harbor freight sells an electric drywall sander for like $100. Might be worth the money if you do any more rooms

Married to a contractor and let me just say, the skimcoat quotes are high bc they don’t want to do it either 😅

as a contractor who has skim coated a few walls, the easiest way is to think out the mud, dip a paint roller in the bucket and literally roll it on and then smooth it out

I have adhd and I would lose interest halfway through. Then finish it 3 - 6 months later because of social pressure.

I️love that the entire time you’re talking about how much you’d rather do anything but this, and at the end you say it’s totally worth it 😂

Just skim coated my whole house. Get yourself a roller and roll on the compound like your painting. Then get the pole attachment for your big blade. Makes life a lot easier

we skim coated our living room ceiling. easiest way to do a ceiling is to thin it out a bit and roll it on. Then go over it, still is awful not going to lie.

So realistically, how long does it take to complete a room with skim coating? im wanting to start doing room by room but i also have a toddler, so to really complete anything i would need to take off of work 😂
