Well I am a baler mechanic for John Deere the clips are the most expensive part and the belt is $1 an inch so u need to know how long ur belts need to be and have the tools on hand to fix them I also bale hay and I keep a short belt and a long on hand at all time

John Deere balers brake belts constantly. Because they don’t have the bottom roller that supports the weight of the bale they rely on the belts for tension and Loadbearing.

I’m thinking about getting a Bailer and I have the same exact tractor as you. How big are Baylor? Could I get really like 5 x 6 bales with twine?

Gator stuff is pretty good. But their laces aren’t that great. There one made by mato the works with the Deere laces.

check out McMaster carr. they have good stuff. I use lacing on machine conveyors for repair and replace. lots of choices in styles and sizes

I like alligator laces I got tool and laces for 200 for everything

When I ran Deere I bought the tool and used/switched over to alligator lacings. Can do repairs on the baler saving time and my experience was the alligators hold up better than the mato laces. Overall best move I made was buying a baler with endless belts
