This is one of my favourite coastal walks in the UK, where you can discover five sandy beaches, a historic town with links to Charles Dickens, and some of the most stunning sea views. I usually take the train from London to Broadstairs (around 1 hour 30 minutes). The beach here is beautiful, and I love strolling through the streets, browsing little shops and admiring the charming houses. We grabbed a takeaway coffee from Giant Coffee House and a kimchi & cheese sandwich from Forts Café (highly recommend, so delicious!). We took everything down to Broadstairs Beach and tried to enjoy it while keeping an eye on the seagulls, who were very interested in our food. From Broadstairs, we decided to do the 50-minute coastal walk to see more beaches. The public pathway is safe and easy to follow, with gorgeous sea views along the way. On our walk we passed St Mary’s Beach and Stone Bay, and I especially loved Kingsgate Beach with its dramatic setting. Eventually, we arrived at Botany Bay Beach, one of the most popular in the area. The white chalk cliffs and sea stacks here are breathtaking. When the tide is out, you can walk all around the bay, which we did, and it was magical. After Botany Bay, you have two choices: continue the walk to Margate (about 1 hour) or head back to Broadstairs (45–50 minutes). I’ve tried both routes before, and they’re equally enjoyable. This time, we returned to Broadstairs for dinner. We wanted to try Kebbells (their menu looked fantastic) but it was fully booked, so we ended up at the Charles Dickens Pub instead. The food was fine, typical pub dishes. Overall, this walk is just amazing. Between the beaches, coastal views, and exploring Broadstairs, we racked up around 25–30K steps in one day and it was absolutely worth it. #daytrip #london #uktravelblogger #ukguide
