Great explanation and guide in finding one’s self again. I long struggled with not knowing what I wanted precisely for the reasons you stated, having had to abandon myself and conform to those around me as a child in order to feel safe, loved and accepted, because love was conditional. And that pattern of behavior and the belief that I must adapt and conform carried forward into adulthood. It’s been a process of shedding that belief and rediscovering who I am.
